Foundations of Yoga

  • History

Breath, Meditation, & Subtle Body

  • Breathwork, mindfulness, mantra, mudra

  • Use + teach breath and meditation techniques for stress management, focus, and emotional regulation

  • Intro to Chakras, Koshas, Prana Energy Flow

  • Reiki Energy Training and Certification

Vinyasa and Somatic Yin Practices

  • Somatic Yin Yoga with slow, mindful poses

  • TCM & Ayurveda principles for seasonal sequencing

  • Trauma-informed guidance, teaching methodology, and adaptations for Vinyasa and Yin Yoga

STEPHANIE WHEELAHAN

Trauma-Informed Practices, Somatic Yin Yoga

Stephanie is a 200 HR ERYT, Y12 SR Leader, and founder of Nourished Roots Yoga. She specializes in Embodied Yoga for Trauma and Addiction Recovery, as well as Yoga Therapy for Stress and Anxiety. With a background rooted in her own journey of recovery, Stephanie brings a grounded, holistic approach to teaching-helping students cultivate presence and empowerment both in their personal practice and as future teachers.

ALEXANDRA CAPALDO

Anatomy, Intelligent Sequencing, Reiki

Alex is a 500 hour yoga teacher with 13 years of teaching experience and over 20 years of yoga practice. She is also a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer, Reiki II practitioner, and has over 5 years of experience teaching a variety of group fitness—strength, Pilates, and barre. Alex brings extensive knowledge of body mechanics and anatomy to the yoga teacher training, helping students build a strong foundation for safe and effective teaching.


DORA SAMBUCO

Meditation, Pranayama, Intelligent Sequencing

Dora received her 200 hour yoga teacher certification in 2018, after beginning her personal practice in 2004. Her training is in Vinyasa style yoga, and also focuses heavily on mindfulness and meditation. Dora loves using yoga as an opportunity to share these, and other tools in her wellness toolbox, with the community. She is inspired by nature’s rhythms both on and off the mat.

KAREN MANGINE

Reiki, Restorative, Yin

Karen Mangine is a 200 HR Yoga Teacher. She carries 20 hour Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga certifications, as well as a certification in Chair Yoga. Her personal yoga practice has guided her for over twenty years. Karen is a certified Usui Reiki Master/Teacher, as well as a Rainbow Reiki Master. In addition, Karen is certified in Crystal Bowl Sound Healing. Karen enjoys leading others in a flow that incorporates tuning into the self. She believes one of the biggest potential outcomes of a yoga practice is becoming acquainted with the body, mind, and spirit.
