Springing Forward

As a society, we are convinced January 1 is the time to start new intentions, however, in a natural sense, the time to re-evaluate and make a new plan is Spring!
Spring is the season of the Wood Element, representing growth, flexibility, and vision — like a tree reaching for the sun after a long winter’s rest.
The practice of Yoga offers us the chance to lean into this seasonal shift through movement and reflection by bringing awareness to what we are ready to clear out from within our outer environment as well as in our inner environment. This includes thoughts, beliefs and values so that we can create space for fresh energy, ideas, and inspiration.
Physically, we want to practice movements that help us cultivate a sense of detoxification, clarity, and focused decision-making. Twists, invigorating flows, and focused breath practice help us move stagnant energy, support emotional release, and reawaken our creative spark.
This is the time to ask yourself:
🌱 What am I ready to clear out?
🌱 What am I ready to courageously invite in?
For our students here at Nourished Roots Yoga, spring is an invitation to:
As you move forward into this new season — move forward fearlessly. Allow your practice to be a safe space where you can experiment, explore, wobble, and bloom 🌷
